Authors - Vendela Vida

Vendela Vida is the author of the novel "Let The Northern Lights Erase Your Name," now available in paperback.

Her debut novel, "And Now You Can Go," was praised by the New York Review of Books as being "clever and dry and funny. ... Vida has written a thriller: a thriller about how we love and how we forgive and when and how we have to choose to do so."

Vida has also written a work of non-fiction, "Girls on the Verge," a journalistic study of female initiation rituals. She is the founding co-editor of The Believer magazine, the editor of "The Believer Book of Writers Talking to Writers," and a founding board member and teacher at 826 Valencia, a nonprofit youth writing lab.

"Soleil" will also be published in the anthology "The Book of Other People," edited by Zadie Smith, forthcoming from Penguin in December.

She lives with her husband and daughter in Northern California.
