Clare Beams’ fiction has appeared in Best American Nonrequired Reading 2011, Willow Springs, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Inkwell, online at n+1, and elsewhere, and is forthcoming in One Story. One of her stories earned a special mention in Pushcart Prize XXXV.
She recently finished her first novel, “Better States of Grace.”
Clare earned her MFA at Columbia University in 2006.
She and her husband live in Massachusetts, where she has spent the past six years teaching ninth-grade English.
