Patterson, Victoria

Victoria Patterson is the author of “Drift,” a collection of linked short stories published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.  Her novel is forthcoming with Counterpoint Press in January 2011. 

“Drift” was named one of three finalists for the 2010 Story Prize and named one of 2009’s 100 best books by the San Francisco Chronicle.

Her essays and fiction have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Orange Coast Magazine, the Southern Review, Santa Monica Review and the Florida Review

Her short story “Johnny Hitman” was listed in the 100 Distinguished Stories in Best American Short Stories 2009

Patterson lives with her family in Southern California, and teaches through the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program.
