Stahl, Jerry

Jerry Stahl is the author of the narcotic memoir classic “Permanent Midnight” as well as “I, Fatty” (film rights optioned by Johnny Depp), “Perv: A Love Story,” “Plainclothes Naked,” “Love Without” and “Pain Killers.”

Jim Carroll said that “Jerry Stahl’s work fills the gap in American literature left void since the death of the late, great Terry Southern.” James Ellroy calls Stahl “America’s hipster bard.”

He has written extensively for film and television, and his much-anthologized fiction and journalism have appeared in Esquire, Details, Playboy, Black Book, LA Weekly and Tin House.

He lives in Los Angeles. Visit him online at www.jerrystahl.com.
