Rash, Ron

Ron Rash is the author of the novels “The World Made Straight,” “Saints at the River” and “One Foot in Eden,” as well as three story collections, “Chemistry and Other Stories,” “Casualties” and “The Night the New Jesus Fell to Earth and Other Stories from Cliffside, North Carolina.”

“Chemistry and Other Stories” was a 2008 finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award, and “Saints at the River” was named the best novel of 2004 by the Southern Book Critics Circle and the Southeastern Booksellers Association, and also won the Weatherford Award.

Rash is also the Parris Distinguished Professor in Appalachian Cultural Studies at Western Carolina University.
