Kasischke, Laura

Laura Kasischke is the author of several novels, including “The Life Before Her Eyes” and “Be Mine,” newly available in paperback from Harcourt.

She is also the author of six collections of poetry, including “Lilies Without,” published in September by Ausable Press.

She has twice received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, and her writing has been published in The New Republic, Harper’s, Poetry and the American Poetry Review.

Her work has received many honors, including the Aliced Fay diCastagnola Award from the Poetry Society of America, the Pushcart Prize and the Elmer Holmes Bobst Award for Emerging Writers.

Kasischke is an assistant professor at the University of Michigan, where she teaches creative writing in the MFA program and the Residential College. She lives in Chelsea, Michigan, with her husband and son.
